About Sports Zone
The SportsZoneThe Sports Zone Magazine has been around since 2005, covering sports in Arizona’s White Mountains region. In 2007, the publication came under new ownership by Simmons Media Group, LLC. Since then, the Sports Zone has worked hard to provide even greater coverage, expanding from an average of 20 pages per issue to between 28 and 32 pages currently. In August of 2008, the Sports Zone reached agreement with Valley Newspapers of Phoenix, Arizona, to dramatically improve print quality. This change also allows the Sports Zone to print full color on every page – something we could not do in the past.

At the Sports Zone, young and adult athletes are featured on our pages. The magazine is published bi-weekly, or every other week. While the primary focus is varsity athletics, there is outstanding coverage of sports from T-Ball to city basketball and more. In rural communities across America, sports are perhaps the main source of entertainment. It galvanizes these communities, making them stronger and proud. It is rare to find a publication dedicated to providing coverage in these areas.

For the first time in 2008, the Sports Zone Magazine produced the famed Friday Night Football Show. FNF has been on the air in Northeast Arizona since the early 90’s and the two sports franchises were a perfect match. The Sports Zone will produce much more multi-media sports coverage and presentations, leveraging an outstanding staff of writers, photographers and broadcasters to offer radio, video, internet and print media products.

Beginning as soon as possible, the Sports Zone will expand to other rural markets of Arizona. Nobody covers local sports like the Sports Zone!
